Direct Filing

Companies and inventors can decide to file an application directly in each country or in combination using the PCT process. Direct filing is the only option when filing in countries that are not included in any convention, such as Argentina, Venezuela, Taiwan, or the Gulf States.

Direct filing is the protection method most often used when the patent needs to be granted quickly, as the process is faster, or when filing in a small number of countries, due to the lower initial costs.
